PORTAL WINDOWS: VIEW INTO ANOTHER WORLD
BEC STUPAK

The intersection of Broadway and Houston is such a charged energy center of New York City that it is a high-opportunity location for portal windows to appear. These portal windows are openings that allow onlookers a rare glimpse into other worlds. It is an opportunity traditionally reserved for a certain few who have undergone rigorous, intensive training to learn how to open these portal windows. But now, after many years of research, I have finally developed a technology that will make these portal windows visible to humans so they will be able to see them with the un-aided eye. I hope to share with humans the joys of portal windows and the benefits that can be had from interaction with other worlds.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Bec Stupak has been working with video for quite some time now. Three years ago she developed a technique that has allowed her to transform the static medium of video into something living that can react to the surrounding environment. Her experiments have taken her to places as far afield as Macedonia, Slovenia, Canada and throughout the United States and have been performed for thousands of people. With her Portal Windows project for the Free Biennial, Bec will continue to explore her interest in helping others view alternate planes of reality.
