ABOUT THE ARIST


Laurent Sauerwein is an artist, designer, writer, teacher who lives and works in Paris. Shows: Sonnabend, Cartier Foundation, Paris Musée d'Art Moderne. Collections: Centre Pompidou, Paris; Cabinet des Estampes, Geneva. Teaches at Parsons School of Design - Paris - and The American University of Paris.



ARTISTS STATEMENT

Because he believes that there's more to the world than what meets the screen or the click of a mouse, Laurent Sauerwein, an artist living in Paris, makes artist's books which are digitally produced and then printed and assembled by hand. In a world where clickable pages proliferate, Laurent Sauerwein makes books with pages that you can actually turn.
