Since 1997 I have been putting thousands of original file card sized drawings
(ink on paper) between the pages of books at the New School University's
Raymond Fogelman Library at 65 Fifth Avenue in NYC as an ongoing regularly
The project is similar to other installations that I have done internationally.
This ongoing work (that is, I "update" it once or twice a year
by putting in more drawings) has been done with the permission of the
New School's librarian Gail Persky and (then) curator Kathleen Goncharov
(who has since moved on to MIT) as a project of the Vera List Center for
Art and Politics at the New School.

Since 1981, Cliff Eyland has made paintings, drawings, and notes in an
index card format--3"x5" (7.6x12.7 cm). He has shown his work
in public and secret installations in art galleries and libraries in Canada,
the United States and Europe. In 1997 he began an ongoing installation
of his work "File Card Works Hidden in Books" at the Raymond
Fogelman Library at the New School University in New York City, sponsored
by the Vera List Center for Art and Politics.
Eyland is represented by Leo Kamen Gallery in Toronto.
