FILE CARD WORKS HIDDEN IN BOOKS

CLIFF EYLAND

Since 1997 I have been putting thousands of original file card sized drawings (ink on paper) between the pages of books at the New School University's Raymond Fogelman Library at 65 Fifth Avenue in NYC as an ongoing regularly updated exhibition/installation.

The project is similar to other installations that I have done internationally. This ongoing work (that is, I "update" it once or twice a year by putting in more drawings) has been done with the permission of the New School's librarian Gail Persky and (then) curator Kathleen Goncharov (who has since moved on to MIT) as a project of the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at the New School.
